Tamie Fritz, Social Studies Teacher

I began my teaching career at Roosevelt High School 20 years ago and have been here ever since!  I graduated from Moorhead State University in 1982 with a degree in Social Work and after 10 years in county administration, decided to return to school to become an educator.  I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a social studies license, did my student teaching and completed a residency program here before becoming a  permanent member of the Roosevlet community.  I live with my husband and cat in the Roosevelt neighborhood and my only son graduated from Roosevelt 9 years ago.

In addition to teaching social studies, I have been very involved in both our AVID program and IBDP.  I was an AVID elective teacher for 9 years and have been the AVID coordinator for the past 2 years.  In the IBDP program, I teach IB History of the Americas and Theory of Knowledge.

As a social studies teacher, I feel it is important for all students to leave high school with the critical thinking skills necessary to be successul in college and/or the workplace and be involved members in our communities.

I can be reached by phone at 612-668-4800 or by email at
