What is GEAR UP?

 

GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federally funded college access program located within the Minneapolis Public School District serving 2,395 students across 5 high schools. The goal of GEAR UP is to ensure that students graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education. We provide programs and services, such as college visits, financial education, tutoring, mentoring, parent engagement, and counseling to help students achieve their dreams of going to college.

Who are GEAR UP students?

 

9th & 10th Grade: GEAR UP staff follow a cohort of students beginning in 6th & 7th grades through their first year of postsecondary education. This 2017-2018 year, GEAR UP staff will be working with 9th grade and 10th grade students
