June 1 , 2017

Dear Roosevelt Families,

On the first day of the 2017-2018 school year, August 28th, we will kick-off our year with new and different opportunities for students. We will include community building opportunities, leadership activities and service experiences as part of our day. Students will also meet with all of their teachers to learn about classroom expectations and receive an overview for the year.

In order to create a meaningful experience for all of our students we will be transporting students to locations around the Twin Cities. Please sign the electronic permission form below for your student to participate. Permission forms will be due June 7, 2017.

If you have any questions please contact Cristine Patlan, family liaison, at 612.668.4844.

Sincerely,

Michael Bradley

9th GRADE COURSE CHOICE FORM

CLICK HERE for incoming 9th grade course choice form. This not a registration form.   This form is to choose 9th grade classes only.  *Please make sure your student is registered to attend Roosevelt High School for school year 2017-18.

Can be faxed back to 612-668-4893 or emailed to ckjome@mpls.k12.mn.us

*If your child has never attended a Minneapolis Public School, or they have not attended one for a year they will need to register. Even if you went to the New Families Center or to Student Placement and your child was placed at Roosevelt. Perhaps you received a letter saying your child was assigned to Roosevelt. This does not mean they are registered. If you are not sure then call Ms. Gwen at 612-668-4845 and she will help you. You will need a birth certificate and their shots record. Students who are not registered and have not filled out a course selection sheet may have the start of their school day delayed. We want to make sure that all of our students get to start on time and attend classes the very first day!

EQUITY IN MPLS PUBLIC SCHOOLS

For the second time this year, we’re hosting a community conversation about equity and integration at Minneapolis Public Schools. Our equity conversation will be held in a World Cafe format from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the Davis Service Center. In order to make lasting change within our schools and develop a successful Achievement and Integration Plan, we need to hear from as many voices as possible.
