Getting to Roosevelt High School

Roosevelt High School is located just west of Hiawatha Avenue in southeastern Minneapolis. The school's proximity to several main thoroughfares provides for easy accessibility to the facilities by way of public and private transportation.

Roosevelt is the closest of all public schools to a Hiawatha Line light rail train stop, just two blocks south of the line’s 38th Street Station.  Additionally several main public transit bus lines provide public transit services through our neighborhood.

Parking:
Roosevelt's main entrance (Door #1) is located on 28th Avenue South. Visitors are asked to use this entrance for most events at the school; during the school day, guests will be able to sign in at this entrance.

Parking may be available along 28th Avenue South, subject to some restrictions. For after school activities, parking is usually available on the east side of the street.

For Athletic Events: The entrances for Roosevelt’s stadium and main gym are located on 30th Avenue South. Ample parking is available for visitors in the lots next to the school along 30th Avenue.

Public Transportation:
There are several public transportation options are available that serve the neighborhoods near Roosevelt.

The Hiawatha Line runs regularly scheduled light rail trains from downtown Minneapolis, along Hiawatha Avenue to the airport and on to the Mall of America. The line's 38th Avenue Station is located just two blocks north of the school.

Two bus routes – the 22 and the 14 – pass in front of Roosevelt High School and make stops on 28th Avenue. There are designated bus stops at the intersections of 28th Avenue and 40th, 41st and 42nd Streets.

Passengers on these two routes, along with the 23, can connect with the Hiawatha Line at the 38th Street station.
