Welcome to English 9!

My name is Molly Sheahan, and I am the English teacher for the 9th grade Gold Team. This is my third year at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Catherine University in 2009. In college, I was fortunate to learn, teach, and live in Denmark for six months. I also traveled and studied the Amazon Rainforest and Quito in Ecuador, focusing on the Ecuadorian educational system. Both of my study abroad experiences helped to form my teaching foundation. I went on to teach in Minneapolis Public Schools. I teach English 9 all day long, which is great, because 9th graders are my favorite! I also coordinate the Literary Arts Magazine for RHS and the Food & Fashion Club, where we sew, bake, and do other creative arts. In my spare time, I love to bake, read, sew, and bike. I love to travel and spend time with family. This October, I'm getting married! My favorite things to teach are literature lenses (my favorite books include Ellen Hopkins slam poetry books and Sherman Alexie novels) and grammar

I'm so excited to learn with you this year!
