Ms. Sheahan-Spector, 10th Grade English

My name is Molly Sheahan-Spector (but the kids call me Ms. Spector), and I am an English teacher for 10th grade. This is my fifth year at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Catherine University in 2009. Then, I went on to teach

Humanities
The Last Day of School with one of my classes.
in Minneapolis Public Schools. I teach English 10 all day long, which is great, because 10th graders are my favorite! I also mentor many students through their high school journeys.

In my spare time, I love to bake, read, sew, and bike. I really love storytelling and interacting with people. I love to travel and spend time with my family. I am married, and my wife and I just welcomed our son last spring. My favorite things to teach are literature lenses (my favorite books include Ellen Hopkins slam

poetry books and Sherman Alexie novels) and grammar.  In 10th grade English, we'll be exploring two literary lenses in depth: Archetypal and Psychoanalytic. Also, you should plan for a lot of writing and more autonomy in speaking and listening.

I'm so excited to learn with you this year!
