Dear Prospective Roosevelt High School Families,

As our mission states, “students will leave Roosevelt High School driven to serve, equipped to lead and determined to positively impact the world.”

Over the past three and one half years, we have been working diligently to re-build Roosevelt into a dynamic learning community committed to ensuring a holistic education, promoting a global perspective and striving toward educational justice for all students.

Roosevelt is an International Baccalaureate school.  We have offered Diploma Programme courses for the past seven years.  In that time, we have also committed to raising the academic rigor for all students in the ninth and tenth grades by implementing the IB Middle Years Programme.  This year also marks our second year that the Spanish Dual Immersion (SDI) pathway has continued at Roosevelt.   The SDI program aligns perfectly with the IB’s focus on second language mastery and global-mindedness.

Roosevelt continues to offer and further develop our Health Careers Program as well as our Construction Trades and Automotive Programs.

Our continued development of the arts at Roosevelt during the past four years truly sets us apart from other schools.  During this time, we have developed an orchestra, two bands, and two choirs.  We have expanded our jazz combo, established a dance studio,  hired a full-time dance teacher and a full time theater teacher.  We have erected a public art installation outside of the school, completed one mural at the entrance to the school and installled a second mural along the hallways of our arts wing.  We have worked with the Stuart Pimsler Dance Troupe and are establishing a partnership with the Guthrie Theater.

We offer growing sports programs and many other extracurricular clubs, including service-oriented groups such as the Key Club and Roosevelt Ambassadors.

I hope that you visit Roosevelt soon to see the great things that are happening at our school.  If you do, I trust that you will leave feeling excited about what we are doing.  More importantly, you may well find that perfect high school fit for your child.

Sincerely,

Michael Bradley
