I have been and ESL teacher for 24 years and have been fortunate to be at Roosevelt High School for all of them.  I was born and raised in Minnesota, but love to travel the world and learn about different cultures and places.  I earned my undergrad degree in American Studies at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus and went to Hamline University for my ESL teaching license and Masters Degree in Education.

This school year I am excited that along with my lead teacher duties I will be co-teaching in Biology with Ms. Katie Carter.  My role as co-teacher is to promote English language development as well as ensure meaningful access to grade-level content for all English learners.  Along the way I hope to dust off the cobwebs of my own science knowledge that I developed oh so many years ago in high school and college. I am also excited to be teaching ESL 3B again this year.  I look forward to a fun year of teaching and learning.

My office is in room 100 or  you may also reach me at 612-668-4861 or lisa.johnson@mpls.k12.mn.us
