News from the School Nurse

WANT TO FEEL YOUR BEST, GET YOUR ASTHMA AND ALLERGIES UNDER CONTROL NOW.

Every spring I see students who are coughing, sneezing, wheezing, have headaches, sore throats, itchy eyes and feel generally miserable.  Many of these symptoms may be due to spring allergies.   It’s hard to feel your best and do well in school when you are experiencing these symptoms.

For people who have both asthma and allergies, treating the allergy symptoms can actually reduce asthma symptoms too.

If your health provider has given you an asthma and/or allergy action plan, be sure to re-fill the prescriptions and follow the plan.

If you haven’t seen your care provider in the past year, call now to schedule an asthma and/or allergy check-up.

Don’t have health insurance or easy access to a primary care clinic? Asthma and allergy check-ups are available at the school based clinic for free.  Stop by the School Based Clinic in room 143 for more information.   The phone number for the school based clinic is 612-668-4834.

Feel free to call the Health Office if you would like to discuss any health concerns.

Thanks,
