School Spirit!

My name is Stephanie Feakes-Young, and I am a team member and program coordinator of the Resource (Special Education) program at Roosevelt High School.  I am excited to work with you and your student this school year!

This year will be my 6th year as a part of the Roosevelt Resource Team. I am a graduate from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Master’s degree in Special Education.  I am originally from Oshkosh, WI, so yes I am a Packer fan! (Sorry!)  In my free time I enjoy training for triathlons, reading, art, trying new restaurants and hanging out with my family.

This year in addition to coordinating the Resource Department,

I am teaching Resource English 11, Fusion Reading 1 and co-teaching English 11 with Holly Kvinge.

In order to help your student be successful this year please set them up with:

• One folder for each class,

• One notebook for each class

• Pens/ pencils for the year

• Two different colored highlighters or markers for note taking

• The school will provide a planner that students are required to use to write down assignments and keep with them as a pass.

Your student should be doing at least one hour

of homework or studying every night. Even if they do not have assigned homework, students should be reading about subjects covered in class, studying new vocabulary, editing papers, organizing folders, reading a personal book or practicing writing.

Communication is important to me. Email is typically the fastest way to get in touch with me. My school email is:

As always let me know of any questions, comments or concerns you have.
