Dear Roosevelt HS community,

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as your new Principal; it is an honor to be called to serve the Roosevelt community. I know what a wonderful place Roosevelt High School is and look forward to continuing the work of supporting the wellbeing of our students and families and ensuring our students’ continued academic growth.

This Fall I begin my 20th year in education, having spent twelve years as a teacher in New York City, two years as a Literacy Specialist at Green Central here in Minneapolis, and five years in administration at Roosevelt and Wellstone International High School. I earned my BA at New York University, a Masters of Science in Teaching at Pace University, and my administrative license at the University of Minnesota. I live in the Standish neighborhood, a short walk from Roosevelt, with my wife Wendy, our three kids, and a COVID pup.

I was fortunate to have been mentored by Michael Bradley and see his vision for Roosevelt take root and grow. Along with the staff, families, and students at Roosevelt I will work hard to build on the foundation of strong relationships, equity, and improved academic opportunities. As a neighbor of Roosevelt and with students in the Dual Immersion program, I have a personal investment in the success of Roosevelt – three very creative, curious, and energetic Ledesma kids are coming our way in a few years. Throughout the Summer I plan to hold “Meet the Principal” listening opportunities with our community that will continue into the Fall. I want to hear directly from our families, students, and staff what their hopes are for the years ahead.

I look forward to our work together! If you need to reach me, I am always available via email at

I am excited to get started,

Christian Alberto Ledesma
