About Me

  • This is my seventh year at Roosevelt High, my 14th year as a teacher, and my third year as a Roosevelt parent.
  • I love that at Roosevelt I get to teach two of my academic passions in life: science and the Spanish language.
  • I wholeheartedly believe that all students should develop strong scientific literacy skills to make informed decisions that impact our beautiful planet and community. I hope to support them through this process by providing them with the necessary tools to do so.
  • I was born and raised in El Salvador and I am proud of my indigenous roots going back generations on this continent.
  • My husband is from Minnesota and we met in El Salvador. We currently live in Saint Paul and have a daughter, a sweet dog, and two cats with a strong personality.
  • I learned and became fluent in English as an adult when I moved to the US 19 years ago.
  • I love learning languages for fun whenever I have time. I enjoy learning Hindi, Italian, and Russian.
  • I also love traveling, nature photography, journaling, reading, gardening, and stationary!!!
