About me:
This is my 6th year teaching math at Roosevelt High School. I am currently teaching one section of College Prep Algebra & Statistics (CPAS), two sections of math within our RISE program and I’ll be helping out as an Interventionist in the Math Department as well. This is my 20th year teaching math in the Minneapolis Public Schools. I taught for 12 years at Patrick Henry HS and I also taught for 2 years at Southwest HS. I have taught many different courses over my tenure in Minneapolis from basic math up to
I am also a product of the Minneapolis Public Schools. I attended North Star (now closed), Waite Park, Northeast Junior High and Edison High School. After graduating from Edison, I went to the University of Minnesota where I received my B.A. in Mathematics and my teaching licensure(2000). I also received my Masters Degree in education from the U of M in 2007. I am proud to be a lifelong learner and I always look forward to learning new things.
When I'm not at school, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I am an avid golfer (and former golf coach) and I love watching
My family:
My wife (Shannon) is also a math teacher but she works across the river in St. Paul. I have a daughter named Ella and a son named Ethan. Ella will be a freshman at South this year and Ethan will be in 6th grade at Sanford......interesting fun fact: my daughter, my son and I all had the same kindergarten teacher just at different schools (me at North Star and my kids at Dowling).
